Attendance and registration

Who can register as delegate of the symposium?

Anyone can express interest in participating as a delegate. The final group of delegates is selected based on academic criteria and their abstract submission.

Anyone interested in participating as a delegate at the next International Symposium on Restorative Justice should express his/her interest by email; including affiliation, fields of expertise, country, contact details, along with a short bio up to 300 words and a draft abstract on a topic that would like to present.

Can I attend the symposium without making a presentation?

The International Symposia on Restorative Justice are closed high-profile events. Only delegates who will be selected based on their academic profile and their abstract submission can attend the symposium. Travelling and accommodation

What is the best way to travel to Skopelos island?

There is no airport in Skopelos island. Transportation to the island is possible only by ferry boats. The Organising and Executive Committees and Secretariat will be meeting in Athens on Friday 17th June and travel all together to Skopelos on Saturday 18th June. We encourage delegates to join us in Athens and travel together to Skopelos! On June 17th, we are organizing a (optional) welcome dinner by the Acropolis.

A special email regarding travelling options will be sent to delegates in a reasonable time to assist them with booking their flights to and from Greece.

If I join the Symposium’s team in Athens, what will be my additional expenses?

In this case, your additional expenses include accommodation in Athens on 17th June and the bus and hydrofoil to and from Skopelos. These extra expenses will be paid directly from you.

Where can I stay in Athens?

In order to assist you in finding and booking your accommodation in Athens, we will try to seal some good deals on hotel rooms in Athens down town located in the Syntagma and Plaka area, easy access, very close to the Syntagma metro station which links to the airport.

Where can I stay at Skopelos island?

Due to limited transport options on the island, only in town accommodation will be arranged.  RJ4All will reserve one of the best hotels on the island for a good price deal. The hotel is close to the symposium’s meeting point for the complimentary shuttle bus service which will be provided for the meetings of the participants on the island.  For more information on accommodation, the Prince Stafylos Hotel, click here.

Where will we have our meals? Does the registration fee cover our meals?

Accommodation fee includes a 7 night hotel room reservation with breakfast.

RJ4All will arrange reduced prices for the symposium participants for lunch and/or dinner at different taverns or restaurants for each night as part of the social programme of the 7-day event, but this is optional. Lunch and dinner will be cover by your own expenses.

Are travelling and accommodation expenses included in the registration fee?

No, the registration fee does not cover accommodation and travelling costs (flights, taxis etc.). We will help you search for the best Flight tickets. Costs can be varied. Flights costs will be covered directly by the participants.

What if I want to stay more days in Skopelos? Can I take advantage of the symposium accommodation offer?

Accommodation fee includes a 7 night hotel room reservation breakfast.

If you wish to enjoy more holidays in Skopelos island, after the end of the symposium, you will have to make any necessary arrangements and pay any extra costs on your own. We are happy to assist if you need any clarifications.
