Victimisation, justice and healing: Challenging orthodoxies

15th International Symposium of the World Society of Victimology (WSV) with overarching theme Victimisation, justice and healing: Challenging orthodoxies, will be held In Perth, Western Australia on 5-9 July 2015.

The Symposium is being organised by the WSV, Victim Support Australia, angelhands and the Australian Institute of Criminology with considerable support from the Western Australian Government.

The 15th International WSV Symposium will provide a unique opportunity for international engagement with victimologists, victim services practitioners, the judiciary, policing, researchers, non-Government organisations and policy makers.

Keynote Speakers include:

  • Commissioner Helen Milroy, Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
  • Professor Sandra Walklate (UK), Eleanor Rathbone Chair of Sociology at the University of Liverpool
  • Eric Stover (US), Faculty Director of the Human Rights Center and Adjunct Professor of Law and Public Health, University of California, Berkeley School of Law
  • Dr Ann O'Neill (AUS), Chairperson, Founder, Patron & Clinical Supervisor of angelhands Inc
