The Training 

The training aims to ensure that your restorative practice conforms with the EU Victims' Directive 2012/29/EU, thus establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime. 

The training focuses on the Directive's restorative justice requirements and on increasing knowledge on how to treat and interact with victims in the criminal justice process. 
The training programme is certified (20 CPD points).

Objectives 

The course aims to
  • Create knowledge around victims’ rights in restorative justice, the Victims' Directive and its implications
  • Improve professional’s skills and knowledge on how victims are treated and interacted with.
  • Provide professionals, agencies and services with the appropriate tools and best practice guidance to further develop cooperation among restorative justice services and national agencies.

The course is suitable for criminal justice professionals including prosecutors, judges, lawyers, police officers, prison and probation staff, restorative justice practitioners, third party key workers and anyone who is working directly with victims of crime and their families.

The content of this course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines (20 CPD learning points – Intermediate level).
